have you ever tried a massage therapist? they can help you reduce the pain of the impingement of the sciatic nerve, they can tell you what type of stretches or exercise you can do to alleviate these symptoms. For the moment you can try warm compresses on the side of the buttocks which is where is coming from and some stretches. Heres a site where you find some of these stretches.
Good luck and good health ^i^

I know how badly this hurts because I have sciatica along with chronic pain/fatigue and many other physical problems. Try doing ice 20 minutes then heat 20 minutes...this may give you some relief, also Aleve will help with the inflammation. If this continues you should see an orthapedic Dr/ Don't let it go too long because it will only get worse. They will probably send you to PT before they do anything else...that's what they did with me. Eventually I had surgery but it was too little too late. I wish you the best.

I've had sciatica pain and I know what you're going through. About the only thing that helped me was to lay flat on the floor with my butt against the couch and my calfs on the couch cushions. I had a good chiropractor who helped for a while, but I eventually had surgery to releive the pain. If you've never had sciatica pain you just don't understand. Good Luck.

You need professional advice preferably from a spine specialist who might be a neurosurgeon or orthopaedic surgeon.
First of all, sciatica is a symptom, not a disease.
Have u or ur doctor determined the cause of sciatica?
If not pls find out why u have it.
The the treatment can be decided.
The problem needs to be approached logically to achieve good results.

Take care of your inflammation with acetominaphen or ibuprofen. If this pain has been going on longer than a couple of days get to the doctor, but before you do that, make a list of what might have set if off. If it occured after you were lifting or twisting, you may have a disc problem. Do not have anyone adjust you, like a chiropractor until the disc issue is ruled out. One of your best bets would be seeing a D.O., Doctor of Osteopathy. They can do adjustments and prescribe for pain, the best of both worlds, especially because a chiropractic adjustment might set off muscle spasm.

Hi. Have you tried a tens machine, if not do as they are very good for sciatic pain. If you have a slipped disc and this is why you need surgery, it wont go away. The disc will be compressing on your spinal nerve causing the pain in your bottom and down your leg/s. I have looked after loads of young ones after having disc surgery, and after the recovery period (3-6 months) you will back to your normal self. My advice? Dont suffer.

Put two anacardum nuts in socks while you sleep, remove them in the morning. It imparts warmth to the nerves and helps to get relief. Second thing (very important) do not drink water at bed time, at least 1 hour before you switch off your bed-room lights. Last but very effective treatment, consume 1 teaspoon of sprouted methi (Fenugreek seeds) in the morning before any intake. If you follow these 3 things, in 2 weeks you will get total relief. Any more details you need to know, do not hesitate to write to me at drjalukar@agron-india.com
