I think your completely confused.
One thing is government and politics. Other thing is the people.
People want to go to America because, as humans, they have a desire for a better life, just like you.
Most of these people had the bad luck to be born somewhere where most of the things you take for granted are a mirrage. So next time you ask this kind of questions please think twice.
Everybody has the right to dream. America is a good place to make dreams come true, even though nowadays it is rulled by idiots and most of its people it's completely blind to what's happening in the rest of the world and how the decisions taken by the American administration influence it.
Have a nice day.

I think you are right. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that they are afraid of losing their identity with their homeland ,and they fear that they will become Americanized.
Americans who live here realize that there are pockets of different cultures who cling together and do not lose their identification with their homeland ,and still carry on their traditions, holidays and religious beliefs even though they still live in America.
That is what makes this country so great!
Within a half hour drive throughout any major city, you can see churches of different denominations that represent just about every religion imaginable on Earth.
Foreigners do not understand that concept, they are one dimensional and do not comprehend that people of all faiths, beliefs and customs can live together in one country. It is a concept that most of the world does not understand, yet we as Americans take this for granted and this is commonplace here in America.

If they hate the USA, they might want to come and attack it. But, since your question is so generallizing, its unlikely that you deserve a serious answer. Maybe EVERYONE hates the USA, because some Americans can't figure out how to ask a direct question based on facts instead of propoganda.

Because America is a land of promise. Iran like many third world countries is a wasteland with nothing to offer. Many muslims think they will come here take form us put one over on us and be the smarter for it.... its a bit egotistical and arrogant but its common. As an american we dont want you here. We do look at you and treat you differant beacuse of it.
Simply put its a love hate story.

1) not everyone hates the United States (which is just a part of America)
2) young people are attracted by our fun and active lifestyle, and they don't really bother themselves with the politics of it.
3) people who do hate the US probably don't want to come here.

I have to agree with your last statement -- I think a lot of it has to do with envy.
