They say it because the creationist propaganda sites say it. It's nonsense, of course, but when they say it, other creationists nod enthusiastically, and they feel like they've said something meaningful.
In the end, it's basically that it makes them feel smart to think that they've outsmarted scientists. The truth doesn't matter to creationists at all - it's just ignorant arrogance - just look at what happened here. You're still getting the "then why are there still apes?" nonsense from them.

1) Because people like C M don't understand it (if did would not have said the ape thing since that is NOT what Evolution says..evidently C M is decended from a cousin instead of a grandparent)
2) Most people do not understand the difference between layman usage of "theory" vs scientific usage of "Theory" which are different.
3) Making silly statements like "evidence all around you for Creationism" instead of giving real evidence like an intelligent adult would do
4) If they find a single flaw in something known to be flawed, but the best real idea we have had yet, most people will flock in droves to the complete opposite side.
5) Left over brainwashing from when they were children and were told "God did it"

Some of you people have no clue. You should do a little research before you make comments.
Lay aside Creation. Christians believe it, Why does that bother you?
Evolution is absolutely a theory....and ONLY a theory as of right now. The scientists that propose and believe it to be true are STILL LOOKING for the means to prove it and to bring it all together AND they readily admit this!. So far they have found fossils, sure....but nothing bring us from the "prehistoric" era to the present day. There should be fossils from the beginning and showing changes along the way.
There isn't any so far.
So believe what you will, your "theory" has no more provabilty than Creation.
We believe God's Word, You believe scientists claims
No difference

Your good needless to say, that the word thought is tossed approximately with the aid of people who don't comprehend its scientific definition. A thought does in actuality have evidence to assist it. "hypothesis" is the term used to describe an thought that remains lacking experimental evidence. And to an above answer, "macro-evolution" has certainly been reported in laboratory technology: many varieties of organism with short classes of time between generations alongside with micro organism exhibit organic decision interior the path of the form of resistances to antibiotics with the aid of random mutations.

Don't confuse "Scientific" Creationism with a theory. It is dogma not subject to the critical evaluation that could make it a theory.

It is not only hypocritical, but sheer ignorance as well.
Some of them actually try to use the argument that Evolution is a theory. If only they realized that gravity, relativity and planetary rotation are all theories, they might just understand how stupid they look to anyone with even a modicum of education.
But they don't and they never will.
They have my pity.

People are still trying to keep the old religions when Science has debunked them. So they come up with outlandish ideas and try to debunk Science. It's all about keeping the lines between faith and science. Too many people are scared of losing their religions so they deny the truth in favor of their own belieifs.

Creationism is based on God Theory. GOD THEORY - The accumulated myths and superstitions of your ancestors which have been dogmatized, institutionalized and then mounded into the colossal pile of crap they call ultimate truth.

There isn't enough evidence to support evolution. However, there are facts to disprove it. Evolution occurs within a species. And it is a continuous process. If we had evolved from Ape, there would still be apes evolving into humans. It's only logical. There would also be other creatures evolving into something new every day. This is not something that would simply stop happening.
And trust me...I don't want, much less need, anyone's pity.
