I work directly for my first sergeant, and he just asked me to fabricate a PT card for a soldier who is going to the board. She hasn't taken one in over a year, and I refused to do it. I believe she should wait until she takes the PT test to see if she can pass it, and then turn in her paperwork for the board. It's only a difference of a week. Am I wrong?

allansc...this is not the only time he has done it, and I'm starting hope he gets caught so he learns his lesson...a senior nco should know better...instead he lectured me and told me that one day I would know what it means to have to take care of my soldiers!

I agree with a couple of the answers. I admire and respect your tenacity and integrity. As to answering the Sgt. I would look him in the eye also, and simply ask, are you asking me or are you ordering me to produce the PT card. If you are asking the answer is NO, if you are ordering me, I would like it in WRITING before I produce the PT card. If he is legit, he will order you and put it in writing or you can have his you know what for falsifying a document. If he begins to degrade you, simply walk away and go to his superior and file a complaint with them. If your Commander has a open door policy, make use of it and see the Command Seargent Major for assistance. They can work wonders for people who are trying to follow the rules.

Good Luck,
We are proud of Military Members like you.

I'm a former army Major, and had I found out you and Top were fabricating army documents,I would have recommended BOTH of you for a FIELD GRADE article 15!

Look your 1SG in the eye and ask him: "Are you instructing me to falsify an official document?"

That should get him to re-think what he is doing.

And if that soldier mysteriously gets a PT card - call the IG.

Way to go girl. Let me see... whats the word .... Integrity? Yep that is it. .Good job. Sounds like he is to afraid to do it himself and needs someone to blame if it goes sour. Always choose the hard right over the easy wrong.

No you are not wrong. This is where corrupt politics start. If you start fabricating it will become easier and easier to do it. Dont start. Keep the US honest.
