I recently renewed my car insurance, i forgot i had just had 3 points added on, would this affect my insurance in any way, the fact that i forgot to mention this....is there a quick way of remedying this error if it has any repercussions?

Yes, you must tell your insurers. Insurance policies are 'contracts of utmost good faith' and it is up to the insured to tell all relevant facts to the insurers, whether or not the question has been asked. Do it straight away. Your insurers may not be bothered about 3 points, but it is far better to adopt a 'belt and braces' approach, rather than find out at a later date that they want to avoid the policy for non-disclosure.

If you have 3 points against you, the insurance company will figure it out eventually anyway. Most companies check your driving record before they write your coverage and then they do updates every 6 months or so. And when they do discover it, you can expect a rate hike.

the insurance companies typically run a mvr at renewal and that will show all points on your license. It will cause your insurance to increase. The amount of increase will depend on the company and the state.

License points are not considered when applying for car insurance, don't worry, when your point's run out your license will be disqualified, then if you drive you will have a problem as your insurance is only good if you have a valid license
