i don't need a second invitation for sex, so i don't get it when she says she is not in the mood

There are many reasons. She may actually have a headache, or she might be on her period, or she could have cramps, she could just be having a bad day!
Women are biologically different from men, as I'm sure you know but its more than outer anatomy. It may seem weird to you but there needs to be a mental connection alot of times, especially if its with someone she cares for. She knows she's not into it, and she doesn't want to hurt your feelings or be like a corpse during the act so she'd rather forgo it than make you feel bad.
Sometimes not in the mood has nothing to do with you. Extreme stress often kicks a womans body into no sex mode. Say she lost her job, her body may lower the amount of baby making hormones because in her head (subconsciously) she's saying "now would be a bad time to have a kid". She may not have control over how her emotions affect her libido.
So I hope you don't take it personally, cuddle her a bit and fall asleep and when she's ready, she'll let you know.

If she says she is not in the mood I would tend to believe she is not in the mood. And if she comes back with why aren't you doing anything, you can respond with "you said you are not in the mood". Or you could just ask her to clarify what she means when she says she is not in the mood? Sometimes women do not want to have sex but are up for hugging and kissing and just being close without the actual sexual act. Either way keep those lines of communication open. Best of luck to you.

Men are different than women. Men are basically always ready. Women need to be warmed up. They need to be mentally & physically stimulated. If she's not in the mood, her mind is somewhere else. So Mr. BB, try working a little harder to keep her mentally stimulated.

It just means shes not in the mood.. There could be several reasons for this.. Tired, stressed out, and her sex drive may not be the same as yours right now. Just be patient!

She means just what she is saying. men would probably have sex 10 times a day but women aren't wired that way. Be understanding! Maybe a nice foot rub from you will change her mind!

It means , you don't remember or know how to prepare her for your love making act , have patience , make her comfortable , offer her back massage , lots of tickling sensitive touches will certainly arouse her to be with you . Direct asking for this, can make anyone ,off mood .This the sensitive game has to play by two souls .
