As a kid, I lived in the country and I got bug bites all the time. You can try a product called 'After Bite' or aloe vera gel.. you can also use Calomine lotion or a baking soda/water mixture. They all help reduce itching and swelling from bug bites. They also help make sure it doesn't get infected.

If you don't have any anti-itch cream, try a little baking soda mixed with water. Make a paste out of it and put it on the bites. Live it there til it dries.

Garlic, maybe surprisingly, is known to help! Include garlic in daily intake: eat (chew) garlic, twice or thrice a day! Its essence, processed into blood stream, does something to skin and repels bugs (which seem to be a problem in some parts of USA, currently!), reduces itching! Worth trying out!

I just let the itch stop on its own without medication. Usually the itch doesn't last long, as long as you don't continue to scratch it. This makes it itch more.
