I cant speak for Islam.However Jehovah God does not subjugate women in His Holy Word,the Bible.
Women come under the headship arrangement.But the Scriptures tell us not only are women under headship to their husbands,their husbands are under headship to Christ Jesus,and Christ Jesus is under headship to his heavenly Father,Jehovah.Husbands are admonished to love their wives as they would love their own bodies.
Even in the Mosiac Law,Jehovah made provisions for widows.

Christianity does not subjugate women. To subjugate means to enslave---Christianity has never taken this approach. Every person has their place---not all can be leaders. the Bible is very clear in this teaching. There are some tasks that women are better at then men, and their are some tasks that men are better suited at. God has a place for everyone in his plan. When people get out of position, it is then that God is displeased.
Islam enslaves because it was created by the devil using the hands and mouth of a madman, Mohamed. The devil is in control of Islam, and as long as he is around Muslims will be his slaves. The devil hates women because it was a woman that gave birth to Jesus; therefore, it is no surprise that Islam is particularly harsh upon women and that Islamic governments condone this treatment.
In modern day Western civilization women have the protection of law and are afforded equal opportunities. If they do not take advantage of them then they have no one to blame but themselves. God has allowed this. this is not a departure from his Word, but part of the growing revelation of his plan.

Most christians and muslims will argue that it doesn't... as if we can't read. *eyeroll* but anyway.
Whether or not there is a god I won't get into. But Both are Patriarchal religions. They were always intended to be run by men. The xian conept of the original sin makes it much easier to do this. Afterall, all women are inherently born to sin. So of course they should be ruled, since they obviously can't make decisions for themselves without everyone getting kicked out of paradise.
I suppose you could also blame it on "the times". It was a primitive time when the holy books were written, and still thousands of years later people are using those writings to continue to justify their poor treatment of women.
The real question is : Why do the women put up with it?

Men are afraid of the inner strength women have. The majority of churches regardless of the religion are run by men and they have shaped the religion into what we know it. Throughout our childhood, Christianity has taught us that Mary Magdalene was a harlot. Isn't that subjugating women?

i'm no longer an Atheist. i'm Deist. both one among those religions are incorrect, and under no circumstances both incorrect. Christianity is amazingly sparkling about tolerance, comprehend and love for the neighbor, no be counted if he's a sinner. Islam would not. Islam is radical about gay human beings, women those who do no longer follow the dressing,or de the relatives codes and adversarial to different faiths.

I know Islam does not.
One must form an opinion about Islam basing on the actions of a few individuals, or gossip, or media projection, or hear-say, but rather one must research and only then form an opinion.

If men treated women the way God tells them to treat women, and if women treated men the way God tells them to treat men, our families would remain intact, our children would be stable and loved and well nurtured, we would all feel very fulfilled and all would be well in the world.
But we dont. We have chosen to rather reject God and all He has told us to do - not for His sake, but for ours.
Satan is very real and he despises all humanity and perverts God's teachings.
