Absolutely not. Don't make the gift too personal, like jewelry or lingerie, but a nice CD of a group you know she likes would be a perfect gift, or a book you know she might want to read, or even a gift card to a store you know she likes. I think that is perfectly acceptable and as a women, I would be touched by it. Of course, you can always buy her a card too!

My boyfriend and I started dating within a month of my birthday. He knew I liked wine. So for my birthday he got me a bottle of my favorite wine and a nice card. The gift was a thoughtful gift but yet not too personal. Very appropiate.
So go ahead and get her that CD or another nice small appropriate gift with a nice card. She will like it. I did!
Good luck!

Sure, buy her a gift, but stick to something small and thoughtful. Too big too soon just creates unrealistic expectations and sets you up for disappointment down the line. Good luck!

Well at the start of our relationship, my guy bought me a silver chain and not as a birthday present or anything. He just said he thought it would look nice on my pretty neck. I was really flattered and thought 'Oh what a lovely generous, thoughtful guy'.
That was in October .... 1988 and we are still together today and more in love than ever!

I think she's be very disappointed not to get a gift from you, however small it might be! Imagine, on your tenth wedding anniversary, when she says, 'Remember when it was my birthday after we'd first met, and you didn't get me anything!' A delicious little something is perfectly in order. Good luck!

Find out what she likes, and buy her something that goes with it. It will be thoughtful and considerate. But yes, keep it small. If things work out between you two then there will be plenty time for big presents.

A CD would be fine, as it's not a large amount of money. But a small piece of Silver jewellry might be appreciated more. Silver is reasonably cheap and girls love neclaces or earrings. Good Luck in Love.
