It depends on the source of both.
I've been drinking tap water for over 45 years and I'm still not dead.

depends on where the spring is or where the water from the tap originates. When i lived in Toronto, people used to go to a small town just north of there to buy water from a community that had many natural springs; you drive along the road and stop at a spot of your choosing where someone has set us a stand and a spigot and has bottles of all sizes so you can fill up. Of course, they charge for this. You can get the water yourself with the right equipment, and there is then no charge. The problem is, the water was tested and it turned out to be far less than pristine. It turned out that the water coming out of the tap in t.o. (which is drawn from deep in the middle of Lake Ontario; very cold all year, and relatively clean). In fact, Toronto water has been rated as of much better quality than Evian!
Spring water is only healthy if it springs from a healthy source
glacier water , or distilled water are the cleanest sources on the planet

Not when you get it from the Store.
Some brands that say Spring or Springs are always bottled from taps and some waters that are supposed to be from Springs are still bottled from the Tap.
Some stores get away with refilling or filling water that comes in,.. those are from the tap but they look like ordinary bottled water on the shelves.
The REAL Spring water I had taste AWESOME,.. it's good for minerals, metals and some times VItamins and some other things. I completely can not tolerate tap water,.. bottled taste like plastic to me,.. I just taste too well,.. but Spring water taste good some how.
As for locally,.. I complained about the taste where I live for years and then it turned out they used the wrong pipes and machines and there were things seeping in and all this junk. Some times my water here is poisonious,.. some times it's full of metal that is damageing to humans,.. some times ... well you get the picture. Your location and the process of how you get your local water,.. and your pipes,.. all are factors. But it's never going to be Spring water. Some times Well water is very bad.

Well, the thing is spring water is more refined, so you are far less probable to get sick from it. Also, tap water has some impurities that is not removed from subsequent purification processes, this accounts for some weird tastes or color of the water some times. With regulation of tap water not as stringent as it used to be when people really depended on it for drinking, spring water is the way to go.

If the water is really being bottled from a spring, then it is a 'yes'. It is a lot better than tap water that is treated with chemicals and there are more chances of slow lead poisoning with tap water.

In UK all tap water is treated with fluoride what the long
term consequences are for our health goodness knows.
They say it`s OK but can they be sure.
If i had a spring to draw water from that would do me fine,

I'd have to say yes because it is pure and untreated with the chemicals that are used to kill bacteria in water that comes from reservoirs. Tap water may also have come through water treatment works and that water will contain things like soap, dishwashing water, hair removal creams, etc. etc., whatever you washed down your drain.

No not at all. Your best bet would be to either buy a water filterer and filter your water. Or boil your water then let it cool and keep bottles of that it your fridge, that's what I do and I find that the water tastes much better
