Is it the new threat today?
Does the "religion" coerce people that westerners and freedom loving people should die?
Would it someday blow up in their faces?
Will it blow up in ours?

Gladfly, or whatever youre name is: I have the wonderful protected freedom to say I dont like, respect, nor see any rationality in Islam. Its my opinion.
I live near Dearborn, MI. A place full of them, I am nervous as well as most of Americans around here about it. No other community in the USA has more than we do...I have earned the right to speak, thanks to my soldiers fighting for that right.

Islamic extremism is the biggest threat to liberty on this planet today and needs to be stopped by any means possible. It's a highly intolerant, backwards religion with a middle-ages mentality and this mentality will exactly be Islams undoing. I am not asking for the whole destruction of the religion, I'm just asking for the Islamic moderates to stand up and put a stop to the hate mongering mullahs before they, as a whole, get completely annihilated. The war on terror policies right now are not working and if the free world is going stop WW III, we are going to need another Manhattan project, something so tragic and devastating to the Muslim world that they will get pissed and throw off these idiotic, racist, sexist beliefs that their religious leaders are shoving down their throats. It's all about education of the Islamic masses which seem to be very isolated and poor. If things don't change in the near future and with the Iran nuke situation, I would put money down that you will see nukes used in the middle east within the next 15 years. Bet you that will change their backwards worldview.

I am not Muslim nor religious. History has shown us that religious zealots. In any form can be dangerous. The crusades that Christians waged against the "holy land". The infighting of various sects of early Christianity and Muslim faiths. No more so in history then "religion" has it set the war and shaped political ideas. America is a "christian" based country with Semitic values. Our views on religion and how to get to the "afterlife" are extreme seen in the eyes of other faiths.

The American Muslims might just want to be understood. Instead of forming a Biased opinion on "religious fanatics" go talk to them and ask the American Muslim what they think. Your view might change.

I support the Troops and the War

A memo from the National Petroleum Company (of an Islamic country) to all Exxon-operated offshore platforms states that all pork dishes will no longer be allowed to be served.

My supervisor (ex-US marine) called an emergency meeting between all expats and non-muslims (me too) and signed a memo to Exxon HQ that this new ruling is unacceptable (we love our hams & bacons).

The National Petroleum Company compromised: only drilling platforms are allowed pork and not production platforms. And I as a logistic controller arranged for shipments of hams/bacons to be distributed to the select few expats (who just gotta have bacon & eggs) at the different production platforms without HQ knowledge. Codename for pork: mohammed (more-ham-meat). Everybody's happy.

"Nobody tells me what to eat." God bless you Bob Miller wherever you may be.

Well, it’s not so different from any of the other Abrahamic religions as far as its evolutionary process seems to be proceeding. As with Judaism and Christianity, Islam was a light of knowledge and beauty when it first washed upon these lands. Innovating in the fields of math, science and astrology in its first days, like a sun on the ice plains of our minds.
Now, fast forward 700 years into Jewish history; the Jews concur the promised lands of Judah and Shumron, massacring at the time must of the tribes and inhabitants of the region in gds name.
Fast forward 700 years into Christian history; considering that Christianity truly started as a religion circa 300AC this would place you right in the midst of the First Crusade. 1095 Pop Urban II started what would be one of the darkest periods of human history where the largest percentages of the Jewish descendents would be massacred until only the holocaust of WWII would be able to exceed this numbers. As well as a war that would leave hundreds of thousands dead.
On July 15, 1099, the crusaders were able to end the siege of Jerusalem by breaking down sections of the walls and entering the city. Some Crusaders also entered through the former pilgrim's entrance. Over the course of that afternoon, evening and next morning, the crusaders murdered almost every inhabitant of Jerusalem. Muslims, Jews, and even eastern Christians were all massacred. Although many Muslims sought shelter in Solomon's Temple (known today as Al-Aqsa Mosque), the crusaders spared few lives. According to the anonymous Gesta Francorum accounts of the massacre which subsequently took place there, "...the slaughter was so great that our men waded in blood up to their ankles..."
(Do you hear the sickening pride that in his writing he portrays? Their man had to wad through the blood of every Jew and Muslim within the walls of the Holy City and this good Christian is prode of this?)
So you want to know what I think of Islam? It’s there time of barbarism. Its as the Chinese say to the west today “hay America, you had your time to develop through the industrial age, now give us our time” but the problem is that that period is over our world can no longer support another industrial evolution and what the Chinese are doing right now will rain distraction on us all… it IS there time but we no longer can support this from of decadence.
Its Islam’s TIME to evolve but the only problem is that today we have nuclear bombs and other forms of weaponry that we simply cannot afford to have them evolving now. We cannot support another major religion evolving at this time of history, we simply won’t survive it.
So, in conclusion it’s not Islam that is the problem but religion as a whole. Look at your own history and see the mirror of Islam. Religion was an evolutionary process that was required to achieve our correct state of mental ability. But, so was rape a necessary step; have you wondered why males want to rape every beautiful female that crosses their path? Because it’s in your genes! With out rape our species would have died out a long time ago. It was necessary to have rape so that there would be enough Homo Sapiens to survive the harsh times. However it is no longer needed to day. In fact, we have laws that prohibit this practice of something that is totally natural to us all. But yet something that is far worse and endangers us all we prohibit?
Religion is worse then Rape! For it harms every single one of us!! And if we allow one, we must allow the other. And if we have the common sense to realize that one is harmful then we must see that the same applies to the other! We must stand up now and say no more before it is too late and we have destroyed everything we hold dear to us!!!

Having lived in the middle east for 2 years I found the vast majority of Arab/Muslims to be polite, many of them friendly and more than willing to offer you tea and to share their meal. In Iraq sharing their meal was a major sacrifice because a family of 4 many times had barely enough to feed but 2 or 3 of the family but still they insisted that you share their meal.

I can never understand, condone or support Islam the Religion of Peace for one simple reason. Their absolute belief in and conviction to Islamic Law.

CONVERT TO ISLAM OR DIE. DEATH TO THE INFIDELS.

For anyone who isn't sure an infidel is any one who is not a Muslim having converted to Islam.

So that makes me an infidel. Well that is just find with me. In fact I couldn't be happier about being an infidel!

I once respected them and do somewhat to a degree, the fact that they are allowing a small group to drag them downis fretful. In north africa Woman rose up against the strict codes of dress in the 70's and now Young women are beating the older ones for not wearing the vails! Liberated women are captured by gangs of girs and boys and beaten for wearing skirts. Sorry Islam is taking a bad turn. If a religion has to beat you to make you a part of it it is doomed.

I spent 17 months in Morocco. I spent 11 months in Iraq, and I visited Kuwait and Qatar. I have had a lot of contact with Muslims. They are just like we are. Most of them are very nice. They are friendly. They just want to live in peace.
The problem is with a tiny minority of trouble makers. These miscreants see themselves are leaders of various factions. They are not supported by most of the Muslims.
The solution to the problem in Iraq (and the rest of the area) is to take these trouble makers out.
Don't fall for the propaganda spewing out of the media. If you hate these people and make fun of their beliefs, you will create an enemy, just like the politicians and the media would like.
I have been in a lot of countries in Europe, Africa and Asia. The people in all of these countries are just like we are. There are no countries with bad people. It is the politicians. They are the ones who create the problems. Sometimes they masquerade as religious leaders.

I would have thought you were speaking as a bigoted jerk.
Islam is a marvelous religion that teaches high moral standards. There are a few Muslims who do not like the US because of America's unethical and destabilizing activities in their countries, but out of the almost 2 billion Muslims in the world, they are barely a drop in the ocean. It does not pay to generalize about these things.
