Icing (powdered) sugar mixed half and half with baking soda.

Mix a small amount and put it where the ants can find it, but where the dog won't eat it.

Another suggestion I read was to mix the baking soda equally with fishy cat food.

The baking soda causes the ants to bloat and die, as insects have no way to get rid of the gas that baking soda causes.

Hi,

You can buy pet friendly fly spray which will kill the ants.

Also see if you can find where they are getting in and if you can place talcum powder down. The ants don't like talcum powder and will not walk across it. There are also some pet friends ant rid devices on the markets these days.

Try contact your local exterminator for advice. I was able to rid my new house of all creepy crawlies and it was till safe for my baby and my animals.

Try the old fashion 20 mule team borax. It works on fleas too. Sprinkle it on floor surfaces and leave it for 20 minuets. Vacuum it up and that should help. Pay particular attention to the sideboard area. Sprinkle it around the parameter of your home also to keep them from coming in. They may be hiding in your walls so know that they may seem to resurface in a few days. You can reapply as often as necessary.

I had this problem too. Paprika is actually what worked for us. The puppy avoided it, and the ants were driven out by it. Give it a try and see.
