The only way to learn it super fast is to immerse yourself in the culture, and speak and read no english. When it isn't possible for you to move to a german speaking country.. then.. it would be hard to become fluent in 2 years. good luck anyhow.

Depends on what you need the german for. This way you can focus on a certain aspect more- grammar or communication? True, contact with a native speaker is best. Try the Goethe Institute, they will hook you up with some1. And don't worry, two years are enough. You'll do fine!

I completely sympathise with you. I am living in Switzerland and learning German here. It is tough!
My advice is to move to a German speaking country, ignore eveyone who speaks English and take intensive classes.
I learned Italian in 3 months this way.

the best way of learning a language is to be totally immersed in it for a long period of time, 6 months in Germany trying not to speak English is your best route to fluency (but may not be within your means)

There are some "crash course" german language courses that may help. Amazon.uk is a good place to start.

Try to find a native speaker, and talk to them. It is the best way.
