I don`t think they are quite the same,Atheists may not worship any Deity at all, wiccans worship false deities,eg.the earth and moon, I would much rather be in the company of an Atheist than a wiccan any day.

No, Wicca is actually new Pagan, or Neo-Pagan. Although it's based on ancient Pagan beliefs, Wicca itself isn't ancient. Wicca was founded around the 1940's by an Englishman. It's kind of like a new way of recognizing ancient Deities.

Agnosticism is something along the lines of "I think there maybe something more out there, but I'm not sure what or even if." (At least I think that's an accurate summation of Agnosticism, I could be wrong.)

Most Wiccans worship, revere, honor, or in some other way recognize and pray to specific Deities, often by name. There's a significant difference between putting trust in a specific Deity and just saying that there's "something" out there.

Wicca is fairly young, in age. It takes some old Pagan ideas, but a lot of it was taken from OTO and other "secret" organizations. Wicca, in general, believes there is a God and Goddess. Agnosticism doesn't have a belief in a higher power, but leaves his/her options open in case evidence shows them otherwise.

So what do you find similar in these 2?

Wiccan means Wise (roughly) in Germanic languages
Similar to the archaic Wicked, and also the root of witch

Agnostic means without wisdom in greek or latin or something.

So I guess they are, by definition, as opposite as can be.

Wiccans have a wide variety of dieties and practices. Agnostics have few if any.

An Agnostic is someone who typically has no stance on God.

Wiccan is a traditional cultural religions with roots in animism and prehistoric times.

Agnostic is a philosophy in response to particular monotheism in the Meditteranean, which separated the two beliefs before the modern age.

I don't see how they could be any more different.

I'm not a Wiccan, but by others definition I would be considered a "pagan" because I believe that "God" resides in the natural world, and not the supernatural world. Wiccans believe that "God" resides in nature. Agnostics can not decide whether or not God exists. Wiccans and agnostics are therefore NOT the same because Wiccans believe in a form of God, and agnostics do not know if they believe in one or not - definitely NOT the same thing.

No they not, agnostics don't believe there is a God but don't fully rule out its existance. Wiccas follow a nature based religion based on birth and rebirth cycles.
