He migrated to Australia in 1917 but didn't share much about his past with my dad. Do you think there is much to discover?

Hey Conda,

You have at least some information to go on. Check out these sites below, they may give your information. You should try to find your Grandfather's birth records. That may lead you to more than you thought possible - you don't know until you try.

Go to the National Archives of Austrealia website and go to search as a guest. Type in the name of the bloke and it should come up and you will find the details of his arrival and probably other information as to where he lived or at least what sate and then electoral rolls, naturalisation etc etc Good luck

there are libraries here in my city that have that has a librarian that know how to search or start a search to find out about genealogy. I would try to find out if there is someone like that in one of the libraries around you. call the main libraries only
