You can make a simple video CD just by uploading pics and videos from your camera, then burn the files out to the CD.

Most newer DVD players will play JPEG still photos and MPEG videos. (But no guarantees)

If you want a fancier presentation, you will need video editing and DVD burner software, and a DVD burner. Then you could put everything together in a "movie" and create DVD's for your family.

However, there are still differences between DVD players. All DVDs do not play all DVD formats, so you could still have trouble with DVD+R, DVD-R, and DVD-RW. There are also several different coding formats within the physical format. Unfortunately, we cannot have the DVD-ROM format on home computers.

Still, I have been able to have +90% success making my DVD's.

Good Luck

Hi there. You don't really need special software. If you have the latest version of the Kodak's software it will allow to to make a CD of your photos ( it will play back in DVD player). FOR the videos you have to use ANY cd burning software that will allow you to make a VCD (video CD) (which will also play on dvd players. but not on the hig end sony, or panasonic)( you can use any software such as NERO burning rom, Easy cd creator, Sonic burning software.

IF you search http://www. download.com they have some nice free trial software that will give atleast 30 days good for burning videos. and the if you like it you can buy it .

I really reccomend the softwares i listed above for making the video cd.

I hope this helps. :)
