for christians!! doesn't the bible say judge not lest you be judged? and doesn't also say that the man without sin casts the first stone?

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. (Matthew 7:5)

It's a shame to say not all but some Christians on this site have double standards as to what is considered good Christian Values.I see how they are so quick to quote the bible yet show complete lack of compassion and understanding of other religions. There ignorance and judgmental views are what is giving the first impression of Christianity, which are not brotherly Christian traits i was brought up knowing about.

someone trying to imposed their beliefs on someone else is NOT Judging, But since you want to bring up the wor judging, let see what the bible also have to say about it, you see, you can't just take a verse or 2 out of content, You can also read Luke 12:57 John 7:24 John 8:16-17 1st Cor. 4:5 & 1st Cor. 6:1-5 & she who will judge this world Know ye not that we(the Bride) shall judge angels. How much more things that pertaining to this life.

It is more of a rule of nature than a rule of religion. People historically believe they are right and that there way is best. The Athenians versus the Trojans, the Romans Versus the Greeks etc etc. We take what we like from one culture and intergrate it inot our own. Even subcultures grasp this, Look at how many jews Have Xmas trees! Ever eat German or Spanish Food? It seems more pronounced in this Muslim Vs. Christian Vs. Jew media crush we are living in right now. Cooler heads will prevail in all the cultures.

If you take a devote Christian, who doesn’t just believe in God, but KNOWS with every fibre of their being that there is a God, and Christianity is exactly right, they will naturally think the rest of the world has it wrong.
(The same can be said for any belief system.)

When people know they are right, they tend to want to spread the wisdom.
(Think along the lines of how excited some people get by new scientific theories.)

When you add the desire to share knowledge to the passion religion brings, the natural response it to be enthusiastic about spreading it.

Your question can mean many things. However, I try my best to tell people the Truth because I know it is Truth, not just truth for me, as many people insist on saying.

I do it because I desperately care about others.

Let me explain it like this: if you know someone is in a building that is going to blow up in 10 minutes, you would want to warn that person, wouldn't you? You would do everything in your power to get that person to believe that the building is going to blow up. That is how it is with us Christians.

However, some are very very unwise in the way they "warn" others.

It is not a case of judging at all, its a case of wanting to tell the truth and making sure people understand.

It is an inability to empathize which is caused by an us versus them doctrine. When you are taught that you have all the correct answers and anyone who disagrees will be punished by an Almighty Deity, it hampers your ability to place yourself in the "shoes" of people who are, in your belief system, doomed to Gods wrath by going to hell. A very unfortunate side effect of an otherwise brilliantly executed recruitment strategy.

Don't get me wrong, just because I admire the thoroughness of the tactic does not mean I endorse it or agree with it. I just have to admit how effective it has been throughout the history of Christianity.

It's just as political as it is psychological. It doesn't matter if the people who are imposing their will are Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Pagans, or Atheists. When two different groups clash, they push until one gives. In some cases, this clash can be provoked by someone who wants their culture to overtake the other. No one is innocent of this really.

I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!

for Christians, to evangelize - to share their faith -is both a privilege and a duty. But Christians do not try to "impose", rather, they try to expose others to the love of God, to the reality of the coming judgment of God, etc.

Hey, just because Christ said that we shouldn't cast stones doesn't mean we shouldn't approach someone with bread and a cup of cold water - that's what true evangelism is.

and Christ was not saying that we couldn't help someone with the speck in their eye, He simply was saying that first we have to deal with what is in our eye, then we can help another...

god bless

I never impose my way of thinking onto others .
I do notice that more and more people are starting to think like me .That`s a good thing .They have cast off the chains of close-mindedness and entered the world of reality .

Yes, Poki but we are also commanded to preach and spread the word. If one reads Hebrews they see that we are all preists with one high preist, Jesus. We judge to see if they are wolfs in sheep clothing aswell as to save a brother from death(hell) and warn him of his sin.
