Well, first off why didn't you ask your doctor what it was when he told you you needed one?
Second, you put this under the pain management category so perhaps you are having bone pain.
The profile is an attempt to investigate what is going on within your bones-like to check for such things as osteoporosis.

most likely a bone scan or a bone density test, both completely painless, its probably to set a baseline for repeated tests as you get older
