I've heard that if someone wants to loose weight he need to walk fast rather than slow.(Not too fast of course)
As my knowledge,if you walk too slow, you'll be not able to see benefit in order to lose your fat if your aim is losing your fat.
On the other hand if you haven't got any aim in order to lose your fat,you can walk that you want.
I don't suppose that you seem nervous if you walk fast. That can be change from person to person.Noone can intercept you.
You don't have to think that what the others might be think about your walking.

Walk at your own pace.

If you feel you can walk fast, walk fast.
If you feel like you wish to walk slow, walk slow.

And no,you don't appear nervous.......most of the time.
