I went to the salon and they bleached my hair and it all broke off, but they didnt stop there. They continued putting dye on it to see if it woulod take to my hair. so now its fried. the other day it was a foot and a half longer and black, now its up to my ears and some purple-ish brown color and i dont know what to do. a friend of mine says its so dry its like an african american woman's hair. Another Coworker suggested cornrows, just so my hair can be withing regulations until i get out of the military.
what should I do?

cornrows are NOT a good idea. First of all it can cause further breakage because its already damaged. My 12 year old is mixed and she has wirey hair when her grandma had her friend put in cornrows it was falling out in handfulls when I went to take it out. Secondly it is not attractive on caucasian women (my opinion) unless your bo derrek lol

First of all what do you mean its dry like an african american woman's hair? She needs to know that not all african americans have dry hair. Cause I just happen to have shiny, healthy, bouncy, highlighted hair, that's MINE!

But to answer your question though, right now isn't a good time to put cornrows in your hair. Since she fried your hair you need a reconstructor and a deep conditioner. Get you hair trimmed and take it from there. I'm a hairstylist take it from me, I've had my hair bleached more than once and I maintain it well and it's still healthy.

Learn that Salons may have idiots (around here they burn three people, move to the next Salon) and Sally's is the worst place to go to shop or ask for help (those employees are usually imbeciles just selling what they are told to sell).

Normally I would say " No, that's for children these days"

But while your in the Millitary GO FOR IT!

I cant understand why the salon kept messing with your hair. As for cornrows I would go for it.

I think you should get a lawyer.

Anyways, you might try getting a perm or whatever, and/or getting it feathered back. I knew a girl a few years ago who had long hair and got it cut *really* short. I'm not sure what caused the accident, but she got it feathered back, and as it grew back, it looked really good, so she decided to keep it short.
