The weird thing is, it's literally just a patch on the right hand side of my head behind my ear. This patch is constantly greasy, even after washing it, like the shampoo hasn't washed out properly. I had it for years and then it just went away but now it's back with a vengance and occasionally I get it on the other side. I have always been careful with shampoos and use very mild ones that aren't too creamy. Now I'm stumped. Please help!!!

If it has happened before and gone away and is back. Did you change shampoo or conditioner? Some conditioners just wax the outer coat of hair and weigh it down. Consider a light/daily conditioner, sauve has a real good one. If it persist it might be a good thing to check with an endocronologist for thyroid problems. excessive sebum on face and hair is a physical problem....usually.

First try good ole PRELL. This won't coat your hair, but you may have to shampoo a couple of times to get the gunk off your hair.

Then try using a protein shampoo & conditioner like Pantene or Paul Mitchell and stay away from the moisturizing shampoos/conditioners such as Garnier Fructis as they tend to coat your hair. I tried the latter once and it was like I had wax on my hair and it looked greasy as soon as it was dry -- yuck.

Hope this helps.

I'm not sure why that one patch is greasy but you can try adding baking soda to your shampoo to make a paste. Use that paste where its greasy. The baking soda past helps to strip the grease from the hair. I know this has helped my hair when it gets greasy.

Well how did you get rid of it the last time? You should try that method again if not scrub, scrub, scrub that spot when you are shampooing that particular spot. Make sure you work up a good lather too.
