4th degree misdemeanor? Do you mean state jail felony. Anyhow it depends on where you committed the offense. I know that here in Texas that we are pretty hard on repeat offenders. The most likely course for a speeding ticket would be a very short jail term and max fine, probably some kind of driving probation or license suspension.

I'm not sure on the regulations of Ohio but the fact is is all about revenue. I have received lame tickets before and had failure to appear nothing will happen except big fines hold on drivers license.
pay your fines take back roads dont go to fast watch out for lame cops they have a quota they dont care who you are the state needs to make money. Speeding is dangerous accidents are a terrible thing but if they really wanted to stop speeding wouldn't they make cars go just 75 miles per hour more cops in designated Area. face it they need these tickets if you have ever been to traffic court look at how many people are there its amazing the problem isn't getting solved.

Do the time and save money. 30 days is no great hardship. I don't know the specifics of the law in Ohio, but would personally take the jail before I'd pay out any dough.

no, it's not likely that he will. He will fine you, and probably the max amount. These laws are not really created to punish you and teach you a lesson, so much as they are designed to make money. See, they can make you pay 400 bucks, or pay for you to stay with them for a while and make your dinner and wash your clothes... do you see my point? But I would probably be more careful about your driving. Fines are sucky, but I'm concerned about your safety... and the other people on the road.

Actually, a Misdemenor is punishible for up to a YEAR in prison. However, I don't see you getting nearly that much time in jail. I think your license will probably be suspended but as for jail time... probably not, but hope the judge is in a good mood that day anyways.

Its all up to the judge honey. Have you gone in front of him/her before? Did you pay your other fines on time? If you do get jail time, ask for work release time. Maybe you will only have to spend the nights and will be able to get out in the day for work. That is...if you work. In the future...slow down!!

Try swerving more. The added friction from the direction changes will cause you to lose speed. Maybe you will get lucky and strike a tree, causing the average IQ level of Yahoo answers to increase slightly.
