They were together for about six years and had two dogs they adopted together. They had a house and were very comfortable and then his girlfriend started cheating on him. Since then the dogs have been staying with me and the rest of my family (it is very large) because my brother does not want her to take the dogs. Well since we have had the dogs they have been following me around constantly. It isn't that it bothers me but they bark at me and wine at me all the time, while I am asleep, and even when I go into the bathroom. Because I am trying to give them a lot of love I think my dog is getting very jealous. What can I do to make the dogs quit wining and barking at me and following me around?

Aww, that's sad. But at the same time, kinda funny. I know how annoying a dog that barks at you everytime you move is. My bf's mini pinscher is a bi@tch!! She's known me for 7 years!! She STILL barks at me when I enter a room or leave the house. If this is just temporary (you keeping the dogs), then just deal with it in the meantime. If they will be with you permanantly, then I'd look into training them. Check out this site for tips and behavior info.

Well I am sorry to hear about your brother and his wife.
About the dogs following you around:
Do you have them pinned up?
Are there other children to play with?
Are you feeding and watering them?

I know how you feel about the dogs getting jealous. Cause I can pet one of my dogs and the other gets jealous and licks my hand.

Every time I go down the road to take a walk, my dogs are always following me.

I cannot hardly get any sleep at night cause they're barking at something or someone, but I got used to it.

So if you can try to teach them a lesson.

I hope this Helps

Your brother doesnt even want the dogs yet he is punishing the dogs by not letting her have them? Thats cruel. They should be with someone they are used to. If he wont take them then she should get them. Dont punish the dogs just because she did something wrong.

if the dogs are staying with your family you could try to avoid them and let other people take care of them for a while so that they would start to follow the other people around

They've probably 'taken' to you ... because you resemble your brother ... and are trying to tell you ... they miss their master ... it's a lost cause ... you need to get him to take them back ... before they start fighting with your dog ... and create havoc ...

Call the ex girlfriend of your brother and ask her to pick them up. Tell to your brother that they immigrated to Canada

They will probably stop as soon as they are secure. They are just scared and nervous now.
