I saw a recipe calling for artichokes, and the chef cut up some frozen ones. Is fresh better than frozen? Can someone describe what they may taste like or similar too?

Fresh is best and they are expensive too. You cook them by boiling or steaming and dip the leaves in melted butter as you work down to the artichoke heart which is the most succulent part. If you like asparagus then you will like artichokes as the taste experience is somwehat similar.

Their really good if cooked well. Can't really describe the taste. They are soft, and they don't have a whole lot of flavor. They are delicious though. No fear in trying them you'll love um. Fresh is always better.

Hard to describe, a very strong taste, like most green veggies. Some people like to dip the leaves in butter, I prefer mayo. Enjoy!

Well in my opinion when they are cooked they closely resemble asparagus.
Canned versions are very salty.
