Yes, indeed. with any of the grocery store brands, you are paying for poop by the pound..
It actually cost less to feed the premium food from a pet supply shop..

Yes. One of my cats, a Maine Coon type, used to have loose stools, and they were rather large, befitting her greater size.

Since switching her to Natural Balance canned food, they've firmed up, are less frequent, don't smell as badly, AND are smaller. I can no longer tell the difference between hers and Sophie's!

Not that I spend all my time analyzing the litter box, you understand. I'm not a fecalphiliac. But I admit to feeling some satisfaction in the change that's occurred.

yes...same with most animals, because higher quality foods are more nutritive, and are totally utilized by the body by thorough digestion and absorption of the ingredients. cheaper foods are full of fillers and cruddy stuff that are not easily digested...and are passed out as waste...also, animals who are fed lower quality foods, have to eat much more because it is digested and metabolized more quickly.

btw, i'm a former vet tech and had a cert. in science diets food nutrition. many moons ago though. lol. =^..^=

**rune amok** omg you're cracking me up...the only other person i've ever heard say, "fecalpheliac," is my wacky son-in-law. blahahahahahahahaha. that just cracks me up...a thumbs up to you mate.

LMAO ... no, dearheart ... it doesn't work that way ... but ... the higher quality of food it gets ... the healthier it'll be ... and the longer it'll live ...
