ive already got my subs and amplifier installed... but when i turn on my amp and headlights at the same time the subs turn off im pretty sure im not creating enough power... i tried a power cap. and it made the subs sound terrible... is there a way to fix this? i already put my remote wire ona rocker switch so i can turn them on and off when i stop the car... when im already rolling it isnt a problem i can turn them as loud as i like. should i run my amp directly to my alternator or can i buy a bigger alternator...do they even make them for a 91 crx si engine? Your problem is your alternator isn't putting out full power at idle.

A second battery with an isolator is one option as is a different alternator. The cap isn't designed to "make up" for power loss, it's designed to provide a short burst of power when demanded upon.

if you're listening with the engine off lots the battery is sure to bypass lifeless finally. If this can be a 500w rms amp it would want to draw 20A or extra taking section in at intense volume. a reliable, healthful motor vehicle battery with an entire charge has a reserve ability of one hundred-100 and fifty minutes at 25A. At 20A that delivers a million.5-2 hrs before your battery, even if that if it is healthful, is going to have hardship turning the engine over.

As far as I know, the only thing you could do would be to run two batteries. They make kits with instructions how to hook them up, I personally haven't done it before.

If you had a separate battery devoted entirely to stereo I think your problem would go away.

You could also try a bigger amp. When my car is shut off, my amp will shut off if I turn the volume higher than 25. However, if the car is running I have no problem.

Yeah you need a bigger alternator, simple as that. The power cap also won't make your subs sound terrible, so that must be a different problem you have.

I think your problem may be deeper than just the amp. Have you checked your battery and charging system? I would start there. Yes, you can add a second battery but that does not sound like your problem. Hope that helps.

another battery will not help much. go to a good professional and have larger amp alternator installed. any good rebuilder can make the amps you need if not available exchange
