Muslims pray five times a day. This is obligatory and involves both utterance of words and action.

1. Morning prayer - just before sunrise
2. Afternoon prayer - After sun reaches its zenith
3. Late Afternoon prayer
4. Sunset prayer
5. Night prayer

The night prayer is before sleeping. It depends when one sleeps. Usually its better to delay a certain portion of the night prayer as there is more reward in it. Obviously because as the night goes on more and more people go to sleep, so God likes it if a person is awake just for the sake of worshipping him, but this is not obligatory.

Apart from the above obligatory prayers, its recommended to say certain things before going to sleep. All of them are essentially to remind the Muslim that he only trusts in God as the Creator and that He is the one whose shelter the Muslim seeks from Satan.

Islam is a complete way of life. There is a dua (prayer as in utterance only) for almost everything. For example, before eating, after eating, before sleeping, after waking up, before putting on clothes, before going to restroom, after coming out of restroom and lots more.

Muslims remind themselves of God at all times of day, no matter whatever they are doing.

Allah says in the Qur'an:

Most surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day there are signs for men who understand. Those who remember Allah standing and sitting and lying on their sides and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth: Our Lord! Thou hast not created this in vain! Glory be to Thee; save us then from the chastisement of the fire. (3:190-191)

defining "pray" word in Christianity is different than "pray" in Islam

"pray"in Christianity is to speak to God about what ever its in ur heart, and it includes worshiping and praising him also

"pray" in Islam is specific word saying in a specific time with a specific body shape. but between their prayer the can praise God name (tasbeeh) and they can ask God for protecting........(Doa'a)

so when a christian say i am praying its different when a Muslim say i am praying, and if this different is not clear for any person it will lead for misunderstanding.
