Perhaps she is getting more than we are aware of. Think about it. You ask provocative questions and get people riled up and thereby increase her sense of isolation and martyrdom. This can be used to justify rejection of others beliefs. (i.e. those hateful people are mean to me, I'm glad I'm not like them or one of them) Now I'm free to do whatever I want. and if there does turn out to be a God I just just tell him how mean they were to me, so I have an excuse to reject you. Not saying it is so but is a possibility. Some people seem to feed off of their persecution complex.

Because she is a Troll. Trolls amuse themselves by continuously irritating people. Trolls often tend to think they are smarter than everyone else when in reality, it is glaringly apparent that they are idiots. This happens on lots of forums as well, except that on forums they are usually banned quickly.
The best way to deal with a Troll, short of banning their access to your web site, is to ignore them. Reacting to a Troll is exactly what it wants. Reacting to a Troll only provides it with the reward that it seeks. Therefore, the more people react to a Troll, the more it will post. But by ignoring a Troll, you deny it the sustenance that it so desperately needs; attention. Personally, I see no point in rewarding a Troll.

I agree, Motts is a superior applesauce. Regrettably its nuanced flavor is inaudible when measured against the cacophony of mediocrity in other applesauces. I consider this to be THE major failure of the polity.
