He is a compelling character but to me it seems he harms his own valid and important arguments with a sneering smugness and a closed off attitude. And If he alienates people open to his arguments, how the beJESUS (ahem!) is he going to get through to those of a religious nature.
He defends this attitude as "mild criticism" but that criticism is backed up by snide mockery and no-one responds to that. It's not the way to get through to people.
I agree that nothing should be above criticism, least of all religion but it still leaves a bad taste in the mouth and leads me to think his efforts will count for nothing in the grand scheme of things. He leaves me frustrated!

nelli, he is a famous Atheist.
Well I have seen him questioning some christian scholars who had no (satisfactory) answers.
On the other hand I have seen him speechless in front of a Jew who converted to Islam.

Just another person trying to disprove Creation by attacking Christians. Only problem is, he made evolutionists irate because he disagreed with Darwinism as well.

He gives Christians a hard time by pointing out the flaws and inconsistencies in their beliefs and the Christians hate him for it so he has my respect.

his knowledge and views of history and sociology are painful to read.

Dawkins is okay, but i find some of his "followers".... overzealous, and frankly insulting at times.
