Don't cut down on caffeine, avoid it religiuosly! I have anxiety & panick attacks & this makes a world of difference.
Most sensitive, intuitive people are like this.
Do u think you have agoraphobia as you say you couldn't wait to get home? It's worth seeing a therapist. You can see a CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) on the NHS or you a Hypnotherapist. (if you do feel which one u are drawn to & if u feel drawn to the therapist eg. feel if they're emphatic, or have the qualities u r looking 4 in a therpaist such as disciplined).
I did a little bit of research & was advised to take:
the B vitamins (or multi vitamin but avoid the commercial ones go to local healthshop)
5 HTP (350g)
Niacin
Magnesium (on empty stomach in the mornings)
Calcium (not as a single supplement in magnesium but separate)
Your local healthshop should be able to advise).
Another excellent advice is doing deep breath exercises every few hours, simply take a deep breath, hold for a couple of seconds, then try to take in more air, hold....hold... release.(2-3 times) It really helps & it does wonders. Notice if ur breathing is shallow & deepen your breathing.
Sorry to have gone on & on...! I've had this all my life & am in my thirties & have had enough!& really want to deal it.
I'm also thinking of doing yoga which is very good. There's a DVD on Amazon called:
Lea bracknell: Yoga & You
which is supposed to be good.
hope this helps,
with luv

I suffer from a variety of things such as PTSD, depression, anxiety disorder and panic attacks.
I found I had to leave my job because I had such a bad case of panic attacks, I could barely drive home from work.
The best thing I found to do is to slow down, deep breathing in and out helps too. Don't drink too much caffiene and try to stay calm.
I do take medications for my illnesses, but if you feel you don't need them try to maintain relaxation, or do something fun that you enjoy doing more often.. it relieves my stress.
If you find yourself having panic attacks, then my suggestion is seeking medical help or a therapist. They might be able to prescribe something that will lessen them.

It's like a mini panic attack you are having. Try to work out what triggered it and work through all of the scenarios that could happen. What is the worst that can happen? If this keeps happening,go back to docs for help, not necessarily pills but pehaps another course of counselling. And talk to friends or family if you can. Good luck

see your GP, he/she will be able to give you the best advice!
something you may wanna give a go just to relieve the symptoms is Bach Rescue Remedy, people use it to calm nerves and anxieties (before flying or driving tests for example)
They sell it in boots, superdrug and holland & barrett and chemists!
Holland & Barrett are quite good as if you ask a member of staff he/she will help you find the right product for your symptoms and give you more information!

What made you panicky tonight? I know I have anxiety and it doesnt feel good. You just have to talk yourself out of it when it happens. Just tell yourself your fine and distract yourself by thinking of something nice when that feeling comes. Try that and see what happens. Good luck.
