What i can say he had problem reactiong during intercourse. Why not during the intercourse you try to simulate or done some action to keep him moving. You also bought the equipment that help to keep him erecting but consulte with the doctor first.

He could have E.D. or may be losing control. I assume it wasn't always like that. Is he taking medication(s) that could be causing a problem. You need to find a way to talk to him about this. Men have such tender egos that you will have to be very careful. Maybe you could start by asking if he is satisfied sexually, and work on from there. Good Luck.
