♡If the Japanese person studied English or French conversation along with the grammar, then yes, they do speak some English or French. My hubby is Japanese and he speaks English and some Spanish.
Take a look at this site for useful phrases in Japanese with some audio:

Hope it helps!

Wow, it particularly is remarkable. I talk 4: Arabic, English, French, Dutch, and a few few SPanish. Hoever i understand a guy who speaks 7 languages as nicely: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, and German.

I *heard* that the Japanese have to learn English now to pass highschool, like many Canadian highschools say that you must learn French to pass highschool. Luckily mine was not one of them XP. But anyways. It was just something I heard and I haven't found any backing to it besides multiple unconnected, as far as I know, people telling me it.
"Onameawa?" = something like "Your name?" pronounced Oh-Nah-may-wah
Ohayoo Gozaimas= good morning. Ohayoo is the familiar morning greeting.
I am not Japanese but am taking it. Gozaimas is possibly spelt wrong.
