Started limping a few fews ago... on his left rear leg... I took him to see the vet and the doc said he believed that he just "twisted" his back and would be better in a few days.... he got better... we moved and the a couple of days ago out of the blue he started limping again and that night he kept getting up and laying down and moving all oer the bed because it hurt so bad.. so I massaged his hip and back and it seemed to help.the next morning I was watching him walk away from me and his tail was up and I noticed a BIG knot right under his Anus almost in the middle but a little more over to the left side. It is as bis as a Half dollar coin. He is neutered By the way.... I need to get him to the vet and I will on payday but in the meantime does anyone have any idea what this may be???? it just popped up overnight...

If a lump showed up after he started limping, he might have torn a muscle. I know this happened to me...yes me....I tore a bicep and it detached from the bone, and it pulled up to cause a lump. This can also happen to dogs. He may have also broken a blood vessel and it has swollen. He may also have fluid build up, a sub dermal hemitoma.

I hope he gets better, but please take him to the vet before you get paid. If it's severe, he might have to stay there anyway, and you can work out payment with the doctor. They are usually flexible.

Awwww poor Scooby! It really must hurt like heck if he can't seem to get comfy at all and is limping.
It's really hard telling what it is. It could be so many things.
Scooby is entering the life of an old furry kid. Really sucks.
I have all kinds of old dogs. All of them rescue. Either they were going to put down or they were just neglected..so they all ended up here.
Scooby needs a different vet. It is so hard to find a good one. Ask around and see what folks have to say about theirs.
But he really needs to go in asap.
Every single old dog that we have ever had has has at least (a) lump/knot or two.
You didn't say what kind of dog Scooby is.
Try feeling all over his body for any other lumps, bumps and/or knots that you can feel so that you have something that the vet can look at and won't miss.
I wish you the very best of luck with your mature furry kid. Hopefully it isn't anything that you can't take care of with some tlc.
take care

Take him to another vet - he may have a clogged anal gland. They can get the stuff out usually without an issue, but I would go see another vet becuase the first one didn't even look at a rountine issue like this.

Try and find a different vet and persist that they find out what it is rather then letting it go and he be in pain.
