I think that cats know it when you are afraid of them, and the behave accordingly. When I first got my 2 cats, they were about two years old. One was okay with me, but the other one hid from me for I don't know how long. I was afraid that if she died or something, I would never find her until the house started really stinking. But, I just left her alone, and she was okay after a while.

I think that you should ask the owners of the cats to get an automatic feeder and an automatic waterer, and just fill them up, and clean out the litter box, and just check on them once or twice a day, but leave them alone the rest of the time.

Or, you might want to ask the owners to find another cat sitter if you don't think you will be able to get over your fear.

I have known one or two people who were afraid of cats, but I have honestly never been able to understand why.

You can always take the big bag of cat food and put it in a couple of large bowls. Open the front/back door and set the food down without you going inside. This way, the cats get feed and you don't have to deal with confrontation.

You need a really long serving spoon to put the food in their bowls. Wear some protective gear, on your legs, and arms. Or even gloves on your hands.
These are just suggestions okay. I'm kind of scared of cats too.
Our cats bit and scratched my kids alot, and we were just feeding them to. Just be careful, and I hope it helped.

Hope you're not one yourself!!!!!! (Hey I'm just kiddinng around) As far as possible, don't push the envelope and go near them until feeding time. Another simple option would be to tell your neighbour that you aren't comfortable around the two brown cats/I am sure he/she won't take offence.I know I wouldn't.

Try not to portray that the lil buggers scare you.. I swear they feed off that stuff ;)

Just walk in, ignore them, put the food out and walk out the door... try and be confident :)

You're afraid of being bitten by cats.

Are they mountain lions? Bengal tigers?

Grow a backbone and get over it.

Are you spoon feeding them? Hey, follow your neighbor's direction and if they are mean you have a decent reason.
