Resturant proposals are done to death and you still need advice? That says to me you are putting no thought or effort whatsoever into asking her.

My (now) husband and I had a wonderful dinner at our favorite restaurant. When we finished eating, the waiter came over with the dessert tray. He asked me what I would like from the delicious array of deserts there. They all looked so good that I failed to notice the small box wrapped in gold paper in the center. I thought it was just part of the display! He said, "May I suggest something in gold?" I felt like a total dork, but we all had a good laugh, and I unwrapped the box containing my beautiful diamond ring.

The funny thing is, this restaurant didn't even normally have a dessert tray -- you just ordered from the menu. I remember thinking, hmmm...they've never had a dessert tray before. But I still didn't catch on until I saw the box. He really went out of his way to arrange everything and pull this off!

Do it after the main course right before dessert. Make sure that the conversation is heading in the right direction before you propose. Just tell her how you feel about her before you pull the ring box out of your pocket and ask her that all-important question.

If you do decide to have the ring served with the food or drink, make sure its in a place where she can't accidentally ingest it (and make sure that the restaurant owner is in on it so that nothing happens to the ring while it is out of your possession).

All that matters is that you make this moment special, no matter where or how you do it.

Good luck!

Make arrangements with a Chinese restaurant to make two very large fortune cookies and have them served to the two of you at the end of your meal. Have them put the ring in hers. You open yours first and find a long, long fortune that says you will marry and live happily ever after and then have her open hers.

From a girls point of view....don't do it in a restaurant. That's so overdone. Do it in private or somewhere that is special to the 2 of you...like where you first met or something like that...not just some restaurant. My friend's (now) husband created a beach scene in his back yard because my friend love the beach. My cousin's (now) husband took her up in a hot air balloon. Be creative!!!! This is something she'll remember for the rest of her life!! And it's something that she's probably been dreaming about all of her life.

At the table when they serve the food, how the wait staff place the words, "will you marry me?", on the tray and once all the food is taken off the tray, she will see the question. Thats when you get down on one knee & smile & wait for an answer!

If it is a chinese restaurant you can hide a note in a fortune cookie saying "will you marry me" and while she is reading it, pull out the ring. Just ask the waiter to use your fortune cookie.

Pick an interesting topic to talk to her about , get into the conversation, " you can even try to talk to her on how men propose , and what would she wants, make it seem like your not ready thought not to gave away your secret " and then unexpectedly out of nowhere take out the box. :)

the restaurant s*&t is cliche. here is what i am going to do. i am going to go to my girls work or office or whatever on a normal day when she is really busy. and i'm going to ask her " let me take you out to launch" or dinner or whatever. and she'll be like no i'm swamped then grab her hand or arm, the forarm is more sensual then " "ashley" or watever, i want to take you out to dinner, and to the movies, and on vaction for the rest of mylife" then get down on one knee pull out the ring and propose. bam mr origanal but not too overdone and corney. but do it outside on the strret or something or a sidewalk or whatever so that if she says no or whatever. also she doesnt want to do it in front of co workers or family gatherings or parties. shes alawys wanted that momemnt of her life to be personal, special and unique.
