The United States is NOT the only country that has to deal with illegal immigration. Almost every country has an issue with it, as there are many reasons for people to move across international borders. However, I decided to do a little searching to find out what other countries are doing.

Did you know that a good number of countries will incarcerate illegals INDEFINITELY for sneaking across their border? Or that some are eventually executed (if caught with drugs)? Did you know that a good number of countries deny ALL services to illegals, including health care (so if you're illegal and get sick, you're screwed)? Did you know that there are even a few countries that have laws declaring illegal border crossers to be considered as an "invading army"? Did you know that most of the countries with that kind of law authorize their military to shoot on sight?

Understand that what the US does to illegals they catch is far NICER than what some of these other countries do.

To midcentur - illegal immigration is illegal immigration, no matter where it's from or where it's going. So in that sense, I am comparing apples to apples. The main difference is that most of these other countries do NOT have open borders as the US does.

You want me to name a country, I will. China. You will likely be shot if you try to sneak into China. Of course, they are also COMMUNIST. Big governmental difference. And being communist, the state pays for everything, so of course they don't want people there illegally that they would also have to pay for.

But the bottom line is still that other countries also have illegals crossing their borders, and have other ways of dealing with them. And while I don't advocate that that US should use any of these other tactics (although the use of them may dissuade future border crossings), it's worth noting the differences so that we have a frame of reference with which to make a comparison.

To d[*_*]b - I've never tried to sneak into China because DUH, I don't want to get shot at. And yes, I have travelled abroad.

As for executions, do you not know that there are quite a few countries that execute drug runners? I was specifically referring to people caught with drugs on them, not a common border jumper. Have you seen the movie "Brokedown Palace" with Kate Beckinsale and Claire Danes? They were caught with drugs in Thailand and sentenced to life in prison. They were given leniency because they had only a small amount, and because they were Americans. If the US were to execute known drug runners, I would bet there'd be a lot less drugs here.

As for research, you can do your own fairly easily. Put "Immigration Law" into a search engine. Add "International" or pick a specific country. You might learn something new. I did that for a few countries, but I also know what some countries do because I have friends from there.

Migration is not a matter of right. The sovereign power of the State has all the power to deal with a person who is not a citizen of that country, but in accordance with the international treaties under Human Rights provisions. The USA has certain municipal laws to deal with the subject but it can not be discriminatory in applying the law to different nationals seeking migration into USA. It has to be equal, fair and just to all. It may bar citizens of certain foreign states for entry on basis of its national security.

I don't think you'll get shot if you sneak in to China. Have you even been there, or at least out of this country? Your little "searching" should be more "legitimate?" If the border patrol catches an illegal trying to sneak into the U.S, they will as well incarcerate him/her. And common!! execute them? in what century are you living in?

As for your question...what's your question? it seems that you are "informing" rather than asking. Well, thank you very much for the info you just gave, but I think I have other better sources to depend on.

Yes of course I know... So, may I ask you if you know why?

Because illegal immigrants don't pay tax and they can get all benefit like other tax-payers do
Because illegal immigrants crossing borders can bring out new infectional disease with them
Because when they commit a crime, it would be much harder for the police to track
Because it's one way of the government think about protecting its residents from external abuse
And many other reasons..

So, think about that first! I think it's a huge matter of reposibility from both side, the country and the illegal immigrants.. Thus, also preventing any abuse from and to the illegal immigrants

It's "comprehend". Especially because this question is within the "UK and Ireland most effective" phase.. Tsk. Edit: Actually, studying humans's replies right here have made me irritated. Why can not humans spell, and why are not they mindful that many phrases are spelt in a different way within the UK in comparison to the US? In the US it is 'spelled' and 'notice', and so much phrases like that within the US use a 'Z' as a substitute of an 'S', for instance 'polarise/polarize' and 'jeopardise/jeopardize'. Peoples' skills of spelling and grammar on those forums is embarassing, you learnt all this in college, what is the predicament?? Edit: And give up giving humans a thumbs-down when you consider that you do not like being instructed you are improper!

I can call anywhere on this this planet home. I refuse to be told by people what part of God's Earth I can live or not live. I came from a long line of fighters. I have ancestors that were kings. They always established a democracy style government. I will gladly take up all those who are being abused; form a army, and take over the planet for humanity.
If America or anywhere else does not want to be a Nation under God with His help we shall build a new one.

I kind of think the other countries have the right idea...denying ALL services and shooting on site when they come across the boarder. I have said in 2 or 3 answers already. That if I went to Mexico and got sick or needed "welfare" do you think they will treat me free and give me food stamps or food to eat..They will tell me to go back to the US.

Well, we are NOT other countries....Interesting, why don't you mention those other countries? Or are you comparing apples to oranges.....

How do first world countries treat illegal immigrants?????

Well see, I don't want to be compared to China, they are the worse example of a country which has NO human rights.....
