I had have the same thoughts when I saw the movie. It makes perfect sense that everyone has a different concept for heaven and what is paradise to one is hell to another - I think that there are 'already' infinite amount of planes of existence in the universe right now and actually this is a 'must' if one considers the meaning of infinity. Every possible thing is existing in the infinity and there 'is' a plane right now, existing somewhere which I shape in this life as my heaven. My thoughts change this place constantly and when I die, i believe I will go to this place if I deserve to live in this place. My thoughts about suicide is unusual but i really believe in my theory: I think suicide is like leaving a game without finishing (i believe that life is a game, in literal meaning of game) and i think that somehow it is a must to finish a game you start before you can play another game. therefore if you commit suicide you probably have to play everything all over and this is why religions emphasize on the wrongness of suicide.

I think that your thoughts are wonderful, and true. I would love for some day to die and go to a place like in dreams may come. ( by the way the movie made me cry like crazy) But yes, I think your afterlife can be a vast amount a places you can go to because of what you have lived or created. After all its called heaven.

I truly hope that is what the after life is like. Especially if you are able to find the people that you loved by searching enough. The way that the movie incorporated an afterlife along with reincarnation made me very happy.

That movie was one I saw when I was a theist still and just after my father died. My father resembled Robin Williams in a lot of ways, particularly in his mannerisms.
Ergo, I love that movie. It's a nice fantasy for me to have. It's a nice idea. If I imagine what I would *like* an afterlife to be like... then yeah, it would be something like that. I like the idea of living in a painting.
But, I have no reason to believe that any afterlife at all, let alone any one in particular, is a reality.

If that's the movie with Robin Williams, I hope so as well. I'm hoping for an old fashioned company picnic type of place with games, food good conversation, and lots of good times.

I have seen the film. It comes very close to what I believe is truth about the afterlife. Not quite, but very close. Read the book! (It's even better than the film.)

Reality is nothing but perception. If the soul truly lives on past the body's expiration, then the senses are all gone. What's left is you...plain and simple. You will then become the architect of your existence.

That movie freaked me out. If that's the afterlife, count me out.

I preferred Albert Brooks, as long as we're doing fantasy.
"What the Bleep" is also some great fiction...
