no.... don't... it tears ur shoulders into hamburger meat. When u tear up that cartalige its over sir. If you want to do cardio do cardio If you want to strengthen then lift the weight. Even if your running with the dumbbells your over working the muscle group and thats breaking the muscle down. Seated dumbell press upright barbell rows lateral raises & front raises for the shoulders. Never work shoulders the same day as triceps or chest and only work shoulders once a week twice a month. Your shoulders get worked doing chest and tricep lifts so no need to overstress the muscle group.
edit... not to mention the added weight to your knees which is bad too.

Not a whole lot, unfortunately.
Assuming you are jogging with a pair of 5 pound weights, you have to ask yourself what you are gaining? Bigger biceps? Sorry, that comes from heavy weights, not lifting with light weights...
Running with weights does require more calorie expenditure, since it does take some work to move the weights from your hips to your shoulders, but ultimately you are sacrificing your cardio workout. The additional calorie burn isn't likely to be significant either.
I also agree with the other answerer in the fact that you are altering your stride and would likely contribute to injury.
Just about every article I've read has urged people not to incorporate weights while jogging. The benefits aren't there...

I was told by my personal trainer that if you do that, you will ruin your running muscles.... or your "gate/gait" (sp). He said to never do it.
