life in NYC is very fast pace. You are always on the move in the city (and very crowded especially now in the Christmas season)

depending on the season this what people do for leisure:

Winter: ice skating in Wollman Rink, Rockefeller Center and Bryant park. Also get a hockey or basketball game at Madison Square Garden. You can also see the Christmas decorations at the department store windows (Macy's, Lord's and Taylors, etc). You can also see the laser light show in Grand Central Station for the Christmas holiday Also when it snows in NYC, you can go sledding in Central Park. You can see the Christmas lights in the Bronx Zoo

Spring: you can go to the Botantical gardens in the Bronx, Brooklyn or Queens. You can see the newborn zoo animals in the bronx zoo.

Summer: Play Ball. You can see a good Yankees or Mets game in Shea or Yankees Stadium. In the end of summer you can catch the US Open. Every weekend there are festivals in the streets of Manhattan. In Mid september there is the San Genaro Festival.

Fall: Go see the Jets or the Giants in NJ Meadowlands or take a walk in Central Park and see the different colors of the leaves.

Life in the city can be claustrophobic at times and even lonely. NYC isn't as friendly as other cities as a lot of people will tell you. However, there is a ton of stuff to do for fun depending on the season: see plays, go to a film festival, go to Central Park, visit any of the nearby botanic gardens/zoos, more museums that you have time for, art galleries all over Chelsea, and of course shopping mostly downtown for those of us who aren't into and can't afford top designer clothing.

I used to live in New York. Leisure: Depends on your wallet. I used to hang out at coffee places and ate rather more bagels with creamcheese and lox than is good for the environment, nd every once in a while, started up the old Pontiac to go to New Jersey's beaches (Sandy Hook is not too far) or Connecticut, maybe the Hamptons on Long Island.
"Any useful information" though - duh... do you have, what, 15 years to listen to it all? If it's not in New York, it doesn't exist on this planet.

I live in NYC. If you like to go clubbing, go to this place in the city called Culture Club. It's pricey to get in like $25 but so worth it because the people are awesome.
and best place to eat in chinatown is Big Wong on 69 Mott street.
Go shopping on SoHo and Canal street.
