I have long thin/fine hair that is extremely straight, but I think I would like to shorten my hair. I'm looking for a modern but preppy look. Any suggestions?

I've got fine hair too and what's worse is that it's curly. Best trick I learnt over the years is to go for a cut (short, long, layered doesn't quite matter and it depends on your mood and personal sense of style really) that is easy to manage - your typical wash & go. The more gunk you put on fine hair, the flatter it gets.

Good Luck at the stylist's!

I would say a layered cut because my hair is fine and thin too, it is so hard to keep it looking nice but a nice layered cut from an expert also her advice would be the best.

Do a bob like Megan Vandergeld (Brittany Daniel) in White Chicks. It looks really cool. Check it on the internet.

You should do the: short in the back and long in the front (diagonally). You know what I mean; if not....Ask a hairdresser.
