Find out the local newspaper his/her obit. was in originally. Usually you can look through the archives to find them at the website for the newspaper. I found my grandmother's on line for free and she passed 10 years ago this year.

If you have a library card you can quite often access the library archives on line or by visiting the library; an important part of a libraries function is archiving newspapers, periodicals, documents of the times. Also, your county clerk would have the death records of deaths in that particular county.

Well, the only free information on obituaries that I am aware of would be from your local library. Just ask the librarian what you're looking for and they can direct you to their local newspaper section or they may have it on microfiche.

the library will have data bases that are not availble to regular people, you need to start there first. They do charge to copie from the data base...lol .here it' a $ 0.25
