My best friend is going out with a guy and she really likes him. But i'm a little worried about there relationship because they just started going out 2 weeks ago and she already lied to him. She told him that she was a virgin but the truth is that she isn't. She even slept with her current boyfriends good friend.
She told me that i shouldn't say anything and of course, me being her best friend, am not going to say a thing but i just know that he is going to find out and everything is going to be screwd up.
I hope she knows what shes doing. I tried telling her that she should just tell him the truth but she wont listen to me, shes too afraid of losing him. What would you do if you were in her situation?

If I was in her situation, I would wing it, most guys wouldn't recognize a virgin if they actually found one

You know, it's probably going to end up in a disaster but hopefully she'll learn her lesson. If she has issues with sexual self control and she can't admit it - she may even be deceiving herself. However, there are alot of girls who lie to themselves about having sex when they haven't because they want to think they have something exciting to say about themselves. Still, others do not have sexual self control yet want to appear as though they do to the wonderful true gentleman she has found. I'm not sure which category she would fall in but you have to let her make her own choices. You can give her your opinions and a warning that she may be setting the relationship up for a blow up when he realizes that she hasn't been honest.
If I were her, I'd simply let him know - hey this is my past and who I am - this is who I am now - can you accept that? Of course, I am more of a let's just lay the cards out on the table kind of person - most of the time if you've got a truly great guy - they are going to be forgiving about your past mistakes and accept who you are. That's better than trying to be somebody you're not and then having them realize the truth. You may lose a number of guys that way - but if you can't find one who can accept who you are and where you have been - he's not the best guy anyway.

If she is afraid of losing him then why is she messing around?? It is none of your business what she is doing but arent you the company that you keep??? Not trying to tell you you are exactly like her but you will be labeled as such if the beans are spilt. Then you will have to suffer through alot of people being mad at you because you knew the whole time. I had a friend like that in school and she went around spreading rumors about me in school to take the heat off of her. Try to talk to your friend and tell her if she doesnt want him to find out then she needs to stop. It isnt healthy messing around anyway nowadays.

Alot of people lie during the first few months of a relationship. Its not about testing boundries or seeing how they react to lying.
Its about wanting them to like you more, and you may say anything just to make them want you more or fall for you.
If they become serious she does need to tell him that she lied and explain why she did. Right now they have only been together for two weeks so its an issue but not a major one.

I think that you might want to step back & see what happens. Since you tried to warn her, it's no longer your problem. If she loses him over this then it will be her fault & not yours. Since you warned her if the guy asks why you didn't say anything you can tell them that you were respecting your friends wishes.
Again I'll say that since you warned her, it's now out of your hands. Hope this helps.

she should tell him. he might already know, if she slept with his friend. the friend may be like, "dude, you're dating her? I totally rammed her 6 months ago!" or something like that. guys are guys.
and if they get more involved in the relationship, and it does develop sexually, he is going to konw she isn't a virgin.
and then he is going to ahve a very difficult time trusting her, and it will mess up their relationship.
but it sounds like sh doesn't even want to have a relationship with him if she isn't going to be truthful.

Well to be honest I think you are worrying about it way to much. No she shouldn't have lied, it is a sure way to loose a guy. However he may not care one way or another or it won't be that big of a deal. I'd worry more about her getting a disease!
