any one else have this problem or am I just wierd. Everyone else I drink with does not have this problem so I am usually up hours before anyone else. If there is still alcohol left I'll start drinking again which usually puts me out for a couple more hours

I remember my English professor saying that alcohol prevents you from going into deep sleep but I thought that would cause you to sleep longer cuz your body will make it up after the alcohol wears off. If I drink two beers it helps me sleep real good and I get like 10 hours in

Well usually when I wake up I have more of a calm sedatied feeling. I usually have this feeling during my hangovers (this why I like mild hangovers for some wierd reason) usually I don't shake and I usual don't feel like drinking. Usually what I do if I don't have anything to do the next day is watch T.V. till I fall asleep at 7:00.

As for rambling thought patterns I find myself at a more creative and clear thinking at this point of the day than any other. One time after a night of heavy binge drinking I woke and realized what this poem meant that I couldn't figure out for years I had to get on my computer and write down my thought process to getting to the conclusion. When I read it today I am amazed at how I figured it out.

Alcohol messes up sleep patterns...It may make you sleep like a rock ,then again you may be up off and on.
My boyfriend sleeps but talks when he drinks. It depends on you mostly.
I don't sleep well either

It doesn't even have to be particularly heavy drinking. A couple glasses of wine or beer will knock me out and I'll sleep until about three or four and then be wide awake. (Usually thirsty and in need of a bathroom break.) I think the alcohol makes you sleepy and the sleepy effect wears off when the alcohol wears off and then you have had enough rest that you can't go back to sleep but not enough that you are going to feel 100% the next day. (Or the same day, I guess.) Anyway I think the effect is pretty normal.

Because too much alcohol will make nerve excited, and prevent from your brain cells stopping working, hehe, i do not know how to say that in a professional way. But all told is almost the meaning, that's why drink much is not good for health.

Your body is building what is called 'tolerance'...when you go to bed, you are actually coming close to passing out...and when the alcohol effect wears off, you awake because of a mild form of withdrawals...nervousness, shakiness, rambling thought patterns, etc. If continued, it gets worse...this is classic signs of dependence growing.

Alcohol will actually cause you to sleep less. Kinda a rebound effect. People with insomnial should not drink alcohol at bedtime.
