I think I would rather go for a nice meal, because what if the food you cook for me is gross..... i would rather say the meal from the restaurant was bad than hurting your feelings!

That's tough! If I had to choose only one, I would love a home-cooked meal prepared by a guy. It would be romantic because it would be quiet, just him and I, we could dim the lights or light candles, and it would show me a little part of him, that I wouldn't get to see by going to a restaurant.

if you can cook good..by all means that will impress your female friendyou may want to try to sneak some info on what she likes so theres no uncomfortable silence at the table..but all women like to be wined and dined also..so both at one time or another

If you can cook, then cook. Then, if there's a second date, take her out to show you're not a cheapskate. My, my, that's a funny word.

Early in the relationship, take her out or else you'll look cheap. Cook for her only if you're good at it-- no canned beans and franks, please, or microwave dinners.
