It may not be too old, but because he is not a pup anymore, could it be dangerous because he is older to neuter him?

No, it is fine to neuter him at that age. It is done all the time, as that is so often when dogs begin to develop irritating male behaviors.
Actually, as adult dog is a better candidate for surgery than a puppy, as they will usually leave their incision alone better and be more compliant about staying quiet during recovery...Also, the immune system is more developed than a puppy's, so there is even less risk of infection.

No, not too old or dangerous, I had a dog done years ago when he was 5 years old as he started getting amorous with the cat, bless! The op worked a treat, but I do tend to get any dogs neutered by about 6 months now.

It's never too late to spay or neuter a dog. My Chihuahua is 2 1/2 yrs old, and we had him neutered last December. It doesnt really make a difference when it comes to the age of the dog.

2 1/2 is not 'old' for a dog. Dogs much older than that are anesthetized for routine procedures regularly, with no incident. As with all surgeries, it's wise to have the presurgical bloodwork done on the day of, to alert you of any hidden health issues the dog might have. (this is wise no matter what the age)
A neuter is a very routine and very quick surgical procedure. Dogs are not anesthetized for long at all.

No, 2 1/2 years old is not to old to neuter your dog.Its the responsible thing to do.
If you have any worries, pre-surgical screening can put you at ease. This is a simple bloodtest that will be sure your dog is healthy enough to have the surgery.

no, it's not too dangerous to neuter an older dog, you can get it done when the dog is 6 months or older, doesn't matter how much older.
