Remember stress is a state of mind that never did anybody any good. And it only takes a toll on your body big time. High blood pressure, screws up your digestion, knots up your muscles, and gives you insomnia. And what does it get you absolutely nothing. Take a deep breath let it out and ask yourself why your so stressed. My philosophy is "if it's not life and death it's not worth stressing over."
If it's the end of the semester and your feeling overwhelmed them prioritize, get organized and decide what is possible and what isn't. If your stressing over finals well listen you should have paid better attention earlier cause if it's not in your head by know you probably can't get enough crammed in to pass now. Next semester lighten the load a little, or relax get some sleep eat a good breakfast and take the test. If you blow it hey retake it next semester.
When I start to worry about something I just remember a plaque my grandma had in her kitchen
It's called the Serenity Prayer.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

If you are just getting out of High school and you are not sure what to do, take a short break from the school scene, explore the world, or your own world a little and see what your options are. Then........
what you can do is evaluate what your likes and dislikes are as far as things you think you would be great at as a career. Like webdesign or Massage Therapy maybe? Don't leave any of your options unexplored.
Then once you have chosen a career possibility, take a long hard look at all the requirements and cirriculum that are applicable to that career choice, and see if that is what you want to do and if that is what you think you would be happy doing for a career. Can your future go anywhere with the knowledge you gain from studying about your chosen career choice? Can you actually make a desireable life from choosing the career path you choose? Will you benefit from your chosen career path, both physically, Mentally, emotionally and psychologically? Will you be happy with your choice in the long run?
Now once you have chosen your perfect career choice that you know wil make you happy and you know can make your life easier in the long run and less stressed. Take your heart and put it totally into your career choice, because I guyarantee if you go into a career choice half heartedly you are sure to either quit, drop out or fail. Because it wasn't what your heart wanted, and will not be happy with your career choice.

Academic Tips To Relieve Stress:
* You have to be organized and stay on top of work. Try not to procrastinate too much because the work will become overwhelming. As a result, you could become overwhelmed, rushing at the last minute to complete and it will not be the quality work you are capable of.
* Try to go over the work THE DAY YOU HAVE THE CLASS!
* It is much easier to read one chapter of a textbook per week than trying to read five in one weekend in order to cram for a test.
* By reading ahead of time, often all that is needed is a few hours to review highlighted topics and class notes, making a large amount of information much less overwhelming.
* Create Question Notes: Go over your readings/notes (the day you have the class), fold a piece of notebook paper in half, and write down questions that you feel would be on the exam...without answering them (you now have created a quiz for the week), take it over the weekend and fill in what you missed or got wrong (now you created a review sheet for the week).
* Review the new material and the old material the day you have the class.
Buy A Large, Long-Term Calendar
* The best time to start is before the stress kicks in.
* A large wall calendar can serve as a visual timeline and help you plan in advance when the best time is to start studying or begin a long-term project.
Make Lists That Focus On Priorities
* Is everything that is on your list something that has to be done?
* Does everything on your list have to be done to the extent you are planning on doing it?
* While we are not advocating anything less than working your hardest, there are times when perfection is not required.
* Stress can also result from a lack of physical activity. Be sure to schedule some sort of physical activity into your week, whether it is a trip to the gym, a pick-up game of Frisbee, a walk with a friend, or playing with a group of kids while you volunteer at a local school.
Need To Relax?
Plan For Fun
* Be sure to schedule in some pleasure activities, especially those that involve physical exercise.
* A short break, a walk, a snack, or a phone conversation all offer a break from the monotony of studying and clear the head before the next stretch begins.
Sleep
* Your head will be a lot clearer and you will be able to get through your work faster if you are awake and well rested.
* All-nighters actually hinder your performance, causing the completion of work to take even longer. Your brain actually works very hard to organize information while you are sleeping.
Exercise
* Go out for a walk or a jog this can help you clear your mind of the upcoming responsibities and/or assignments coming up.
* Alternate relaxing and then tensing up your muscles. Start by clenching (for approximately 5 seconds) your fist and relaxing them (do this a couple of times). Then tighten up the muscles (for approximately 5 seconds) in your shoulders, then your thighs and finally, your lower legs and then relax them. This is a great exercise to do in your dorm room as well as in your chair before you take your exam.
One More Tip
* Stress, although for college students are usually related to academics, can also come simply as a result of the college experience. Many people have a hard time adjusting from having their own room at home to sharing close quarters with three strangers almost overnight.
* While these can be fun times, be sure to take time for yourself. Being constantly surrounded by people without a significant amount of “alone time” can cause stress, as a person never gets a chance to let go. Try to find time when you can be in your room by yourself, while your roommates are at class or meetings. Take this time to do something you enjoy such as watching your favorite show, reading a book, taking a nap, or writing a letter. Enjoy your time.

I just graduated from college...and if you are talking about stress when it comes to papers and tests, just take it one day at a time. Do not procrastinate...it only makes things worse. Plan ahead and whoever said drinking, that is the worst possible thing you can do. Focus all of your time and effort on college because when you are done, it will be very rewarding.

If it is academic stress, you should take a break. If this is not possible, drink a strong cup of coffee, eat something, go for a walk and see if this helps you. I understand. i am a mother of three with a household to run and often am up until the wee hours of the night doing homework.

You could start meditating or chill out for a bit with a few friends. Try using exercise, boxing, or music as an outlet for stress.

f*ck college. I ****** up my applications so much, you will probably end up hating the school you end up going to. that's what happened to me, so don't put to much stress on it, because it doesnt matter where you go as long as you are happy. you might have to transfer to a school you are happier at. I withdrew from my school becuase it sucked so bad. nothing to do but drink and do drugs. kids drinking away there parents money. I am going to a community college to save money and become and EMT and then a paramedic. dont worry about where you got into or where you didnt get into, because school is what you put into it as long as you take the initiative to be happy with where you are.
