if you worked for the money, don't feel guilty. Same with the money given for Christmas. They wanted you to have it.
Then again, if you REALLY decide that you just can't live with that money you can always send it to me!

Remember that money is an exchange medium. With your aunt, you exchanged your services for her money. This is a perfectly normal, socially acceptable way for someone to "reward" someone else for a job well done. It is, basically, how our economy is run. As for your father, it was a gift. He may have felt more comfortable giving you the means to choose your own gift than to try to figure out what to get you. Sometimes people feel uncomfortable trying to decide upon the perfect gift for someone, or they really don't know what someone may like and they don't want to make a mistake. Maybe your feeling of discomfort at receiving money is a symptom of a deeper issue, something having to do with self-worth. You do deserve to be paid for a job well-done and you do deserve to receive nice gifts, even money. It may be worth talking to a counselor or a trusted friend about it.

I also feel bad taking money, but now looking back I can see that my Dad gives me money because I'm really fussy and he has no idea of what else to give me (hehehe) and as for your Aunty, you worked for that so shes paying you what she thinks your worth for that weekend. Most people give money gifts because its easier to do it that way other than buy something your never going to use or need... I have a hard time accepting money from people because I think they need it more than I do, not saying I would'nt LOVE the money, I just feel horrible for taking it from people because they could also use it on something for themselves, especially around this time of the year? Don't worry about feeling bad, it shows your normal and still have a conscience.

I used to feel guilty about that too. I always feel that I must say "I can make it on my own; I don't need your help!"
But it's okay to take some help when you need it or get gifts from people. It's okay; they are doing it out of love. Plus it will look like you are being a drama queen if you refuse or argue. Just take it and be done with it. Someday when they need something (not just money, anything else too) you can give it back in some form or the other.

Perhaps you feel that you don't deserve the money, lots of people are like this not only with money but with things like gifts as well. Analyze the situation objectively, did you work hard to earn the money? If you can honestly tell yourself that you did than you shouldn't feel guilty.

even though you may not feel right about it's ok. that's good. I feel undeserving when I get so much praise for being in the military and graduating boot camp, but I don't like it because it was easy and I don't feel I deserve all the praise for something that I don't see as a big deal.
Also, I get money from my parents a lot. They have it to give and they do when they feel I deserve it. In their eyes they think it's ok to give me $500-$1,000 for my b-day and x-mas. I don't. But they do. same in your situation. Who ever is giving you money thinks the amount is right for you and you deserve it. Eventhough you don't, they do, and that's ok.
If you still feel wrong about the money, donate it to an animal shelter or the red cross or something....

If you took money from dad for doing some work for him ,It would be issue otherwise you have to be happy with them and the money from aunt is yours, you deserve them , so I think in both cases you should be glad.

Yes you do! Sorry doll, but we all do, that is part of being human.
Do you have something wrong with you because of the money issues you explained, probably not. However, people give us money to make themselves feel better too, because they have their own issues... so smile and say thank you.... Me-ow

you either have low self-confidence and feel you don't deserve it or have high morals and care to much for them to take their money
