I have no passport and i need a CPNI the embassy ask me for a baptismal and school records but the spelling of my name is mispelled.i just want to know if i my baptismal and school records have to go to malacanang and dfa even if i have the affidavit from the attorney.i'll appreciate all the information you can give me thank you...

nope.. not in Malacanang... you need to go to DFA then to the National Statistic Office......there you can correct your misspelled name.... but i think you need a little time and money with that because you need to publish your name to a local and antional paper before they will approve it...... so good luck... you can also go to Public Attorney's Office to seek for advise...... or go straight to DFA or to NSO and look for their lawyers there.... in that way you will be advised what to do..... i had the same experience before........ now i am ok....

File an affidavit for correction of your name in the Civil Registry where you are registered for typographical errors and it is not in Malacanang or DFA. If the change of name is not typographical, the change must be through a special proceedings in court which is costly.

you will have to get your name corrected first. paper work paper work paper work. you know the rules, nothing can ever be done simply!
