oh yeah, liqour aint medicine baby. its just a mind altering drug. you see the cowboys sucked down whickey when they got shot becuase i eased the pain, you know drunk people walk into walls and dont know tell the next mornign or how cocaine users run toward the police whos shooting the gun. However compari comes from an old italian herbal medicine remedie. my grandmother swears by gin and warm milk to put you too sleep. cognac and port wines aids digestion. some docotrs say red wine, now and again is god for the heart. but most liqours once in a while help clean the arteries so i've heard my alcholic doctor uncle say..

For certain ailments, such as ulcers, it's best to avoid alcohol altogether.

One thing that alcohol can do for you is help you sleep and rest is often a good cure. It can also help you through a painful illness and it can help open up breathing passages.

Wine can help settle an upset stomach and red wine is said to be good for the heart.

As far as whiskey goes, take your pick. If I were to take whiskey for medicinal purposes I would choose a smooth well aged Scotch because it would have fewer bad side effects.

A hot toddy is good for a cold. Make it with a good quality rum, lemon juice and honey and it should be drunk about the same temperature as coffee or hot tea.

If any of these "cures" are related to pain or sleep, you have to remember alcohol, by nature, is a depressant (opposite of a stimulant, which people oddly often think it is): it, as a depressant, makes you sleepy and lessens your sense of pain.

If it actually, for example, makes your stomach heal faster, I am guessing it's the flavorings (juices, spices, etc.) that do the work not the alcohol. I know red wine is good for cleaning impurities in heart due to effect of grapes used in red wine.

That's all in the head. Liquor does not help ailments, but CAUSES ailments, instead. That is one reason I quit making it. It will kill you.
