Potential has to be actualized to have value. Unactualized potential is valueless.

"A new born child is the future of the human species."
You're perceiving value in the child, and in the human race. What value does it have aside from perceived value?

I am not sure why this is directed at atheists. To my knowledge atheists don't value life any less then anyone else (newborn or otherwise). At least I don't.

Well usually a white baby will go for more than a non-white baby depending on what country you're dealing with. However, if I had to give you an average I'd say you're looking at about 20 to 30 thousand dollars for a healthy newborn baby on the black market.

The value of a human child to atheists is as a contributor to society in any field that advances humanity. While to theists, the value of a child is that of a life or a soul, atheists see the value of a child in his or her potential contributions to human knowledge and progress.

A new born child is the future of the human species. No new borns, no future.
A world without religious wars would be nice. Keep the belief in God out of the minds of our youth
